Baptism
Celebrate your new life in Christ by obeying Jesus' command to be baptized in Matthew 19:28. Jesus told us to be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism doesn't save you, but it does show the world that you have been saved. It's not required for salvation, but it is a biblical command and demonstrates your love and obedience to Christ.

What Does Getting Baptized Mean?
We are so excited that you are interested in baptism at Faith Baptist Church. We believe that baptism declares to the world you've trusted Jesus, joined God's family, and made a commitment to follow Jesus, heart and soul. Because Jesus instructed us to be baptized (Matthew 19:28), this is an act of obedience. While it is not necessary for salvation, it demonstrates submission to God... Baptism is both a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person's faith in Jesus Christ. It signifies that their former way of life has been put to death, pictured in one going down under the water while being immersed and depicts the raising up of a new life committed to following Christ. In simple terms, baptism's purpose is similar to that of a wedding band. Baptism's purpose is to identift publically that you are not ashamed of Jesus and that you have accepted Him as your personal Savior, much like a wedding band is a sign that you're married. It is also a public statement that you submit to Christ and want to follow Him by surrendering to His Word.
